LMA Virginias Chapter Volunteer Event – June 26th

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view – until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”  - Atticus Finch, To Kill A Mockingbird

*****

In keeping with our continuing commitment to be a Chapter that invests time and resources in our local community, we will hold a group volunteer event at FeedMore, Central Virginia’s food bank and community kitchen, on Tuesday, June 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.   We welcome all members and their guests to join us for this event.

FeedMore is the umbrella organization of the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels Serving Central Virginia, and the Community Kitchen, which has produced a comprehensive approach to hunger relief in Central Virginia. Working together, FeedMore’s organizations provide a variety of feeding programs targeted to the populations in our region that are most vulnerable to hunger: children, families, and seniors.

For those members in eastern or western areas who cannot make the trip to Richmond, we encourage you to reach out to your own food bank (or other non-profit community agency) on or around June 26 to formulate a similar effort. Please let Russell Lawson, the Virginias Chapter Programs Chair, know of your event and if you require help with attendance.

We look forward to a strong turnout for this service event, and hope you will be able to join us.  We will share additional details in the coming days.
